16th October 2024 - ViTrox Secures Double Gold at The Edge ESG Awards 2024

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA - 15 OCTOBER 2024 - ViTrox has earned two gold awards at The Edge ESG Awards, marking its third consecutive year of recognition for excellence in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. The company was honoured as the best performer in the Technology sector and for "Most Improved Performance Over 3 Years" among companies with a market capitalisation of over RM5 billion.

President and Group CEO Dato’ Chu Jenn Weng stated, "Our ESG strategy is rooted in our core values of I.A.C.T.G. (Integrity, Accountability, Courage, Trust & Respect, and Gratitude & Care). We don't pursue these initiatives merely for compliance, but because we genuinely believe in their value."


On 14 October 2024, ViTrox’s Finance Manager Michelle Tan (centre) was presented the Gold award of "Most Improved Performance Over 3 Years" by Deputy Prime Minister YAB Dato' Sri Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof (third to the right). Witnessing the presentation were (left to third to the left) The Edge Malaysia editor-in-chief Kathy Fong, Bursa Malaysia CEO Datuk Muhamad Umar Swift, The Edge Media Group chairman and owner Tan Sri Tong Kooi Ong, (second to the right and right) UOB Malaysia CEO Ng Wei Wei, and The Edge Media Group publisher and group CEO Datuk Ho Kay Tat.

ViTrox's commitment to ESG principles has yielded impressive results. In 2023, ViTrox achieved a ranking in the top 3% percentile by FTSE Russell, scoring 4.7 out of 5 on ESG metrics. This places ViTrox among the leading performers in the Technology Supersector, highlighting its dedication to sustainability and ethical business practices.

Despite facing a challenging global economy last year, characterised by high inflation, overstock issues and geopolitical tensions, ViTrox maintained its focus on sustainability. The Company implemented a strategic approach, including quarterly ESG meetings to enhance cross-department collaboration and align strategies with sustainability goals.
