The award was announced during an award ceremony at Productronica in Munich, Germany, on November 16, 2021.

The latest generation of V9i ARV is a powerful equipment that has the capability to perform conformal coating and final inspection with common hardware. The breakthrough technologies of V9i ARV started with the patented all-in-one lighting design, which comprises motorised vari-angle UV and RGBW lighting for final inspection and conformal coating inspection. Apart from that, V9i ARV is mounted to a 6-axis collaborative robot to enable multi-angle inspection for printed circuit board (PCB) board size up to 510mm x 510mm. Additionally, V9i developed an advanced CAD-less smart learning capability with both machine learning and rule-based algorithms, which enables fast recipe set-up and comprehensive inspection coverage that includes foreign object detection as well as cosmetic defects on PCB surfaces. In a relatively complex Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA), V9i could be 3 times faster than manual inspection.
